Last Call For Governor's Points Of Light

FALLON, Nev. - The 2006 Nevada Governor's Points of Light Award nomination forms are available online at: www.americorpsnevada.org. There is still time to enter. Entries may be faxed to 775-423-8039 by the 5 p.m., Aug. 31 deadline, provided the completed nomination form is also mailed to the Nevada Commission for National and Community Service, Inc. in Fallon, Nevada.

The Governor's Points of Light Award was established to recognize individuals and organizations for their dedication, commitment, and determination in promoting and supporting volunteerism throughout the state. By recognizing their efforts, the state of Nevada, along with the Nevada Commission for National and Community Service, Inc., hope to inspire others in sharing a singular vision: “Strengthening Nevada through AmeriCorps and Volunteerism”. “Nevada has an abundance of citizens of every age and background who give selflessly to improve our communities”, said Governor Kenny Guinn. “Nominate someone today and help me shine the spotlight on Nevada's many Points of Light.”
