Harrah's Raises Funds For Cancer

RENO, Nev. - Harrah’s Reno is teaming up with the Righteous Ones and the Angel Kiss Foundation for the inaugural Righteous Ones/Angel Kiss Foundation Cancer Run on Aug. 20. The purpose of the all-day event is to raise money for northern Nevada families struggling with childhood cancer.

To participate, register for the Righteous Ones/Angel Kiss Foundation Cancer Run at 8 a.m. at the Reno Road House Saloon, 1923 Prater Way in Sparks. Complimentary donuts and coffee will be served to riders. Or, register at 8 a.m. at Sparky’s Sports Bar and Grill, 2310 South Carson Street in Carson City. Riders will receive a complimentary breakfast. The first 100 riders will also receive a free T-shirt.

The event kicks off at 10 a.m. with a scavenger hunt motorcycle run. The entry fee is $15 to $25, with all proceeds going to the Angel Kiss Foundation. The scavenger hunt concludes at Harrah’s Plaza, 219 North Center Street in Reno. There, participants will be treated to complimentary food and beverages, a 50/50 raffle, balloon raffle, live auction, and entertainment by local band C.H. KYO. The music will continue throughout the night, with a second concert taking at 10 p.m.

Through this event, Harrah’s Reno, The Angel Kiss Foundation, and The Righteous Ones will provide financial, educational, and emotional support to families to help ease the burden associated with fighting cancer. For more information, call The Angel Kiss Foundation at (775) 323-7721.

Since April 2000, the Angel Kiss Foundation has raised over $200,000 to assist more than 95 families in northern Nevada and the eastern Sierra deal with the challenges of childhood cancer.

The Righteous Ones have raised thousands of dollars in the fight against cancer. With limited resources, The Righteous Ones brought in more than $3,000 for the Children of Fallon two years ago, making it the first organization to raise funds for the children’s everyday needs. The Righteous Ones are dedicated to assisting families and their children afflicted with cancer
