NCNCS Elects Executive Board

FALLON, Nev. - Nevada Commission for National & Community Service, Inc. (NCNCS) elected its officers for the 2005-06 term. Officers are: Joseph Cobery, director of Churchill County Social Services (Fallon), chair; Richard R. Becker, president of Copywrite, Ink. Writing Services, Inc. (Las Vegas), vice chair; Gina Polovina, vice president of government and community affairs at Boyd Gaming Corporation (Las Vegas), secretary; and Raelene Palmer (Las Vegas), treasurer.

All four officers serve as Governor-appointed commissioners for the NCNCS. The NCNCS is a non-profit organization dedicated to engaging Nevadans in community-based services. It was formed by the state of Nevada in 1994 to serve as local administration for the national AmeriCorps program, which was created to assist communities while offering stipends and
