Business Bank Contributes To United Way

LAS VEGAS – Business Bank of Nevada announced that its contribution to the 2005 United Way of Southern Nevada Campaign totaled $15,000. This donation consisted of $12,500 from its employees and another $2,500 in a corporate gift. Approximately 63 percent of its employees participated in the annual fundraising event.

“Bank employees continue to demonstrate a strong sense of community and willingness to help others through their generous contributions to United Way," said Larry Charlton, executive vice president and chief operations officer of Business Bank and chairman of the board of United Way of Southern Nevada. ''The average employee gift this year totaled nearly $300, an amount that was more than 10 times the local per capita gift. It’s a real privilege working with employees who care so much about people and their community.”

Business Bank continues to have five leadership donors who contribute $1,000 or more annually to the United Way campaign. The number of Bank employees who participate in the campaign continues to increase. Last year, the Bank had 42 participants compared to this year’s 47 participants. The bank currently has a total of 67 employees in southern Nevada.

“Small companies can and do make a difference in their communities and Business Bank is a prime example of how this can happen,” said Dan Goulet, president and chief executive officer of United Way of Southern Nevada. “As more companies follow Business Bank’s lead we will be able to deliver more impact to creating long-term change and improving lives in Southern Nevada.”
