Reno Rodeo Foundation Sets Giving Record


RENO, Nev. - The Reno Rodeo Foundation announced that it gave $236,000 in grants, scholarships, capital contributions, and donations to local charitable organizations in 2004. Beneficiaries included: Angel Kiss Foundation, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Boy Scouts of America Nevada Area Council, Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada, Northern Nevada RAVE Family Foundation, Western Nevada Community College for collegiate rodeo, Sun Valley Pool, SafeKids/REMSA, Veterans' Guest House, McQueen High Marching Band, Assistance League's Charmanta Auxiliary and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Seventeen students from rural Nevada studying animal science also received scholarships to attend the University of Nevada, Reno.

The foundation will also be breaking ground on a $1.2 million recreational facility for the children at Washoe County's Kids'™ Kampus this year. The groundbreaking marks the end of a 3-year $1 million dollar capital campaign to build a multipurpose/recreational facility for the youth at the family campus.

Since 1986, the Reno Rodeo Foundation has been committed to enhancing and enriching the lives of northern Nevada families by aiding children with extraordinary needs, building community partnerships, and providing scholarships to Nevada youth.
